Michelle is a down to earth and relatable speaker who shares her unique story of resilience, adaptability and relentlessness whilst managing her 25 years as an athlete with a successful career in business and motherhood.
As one of Australia’s longest standing international karate athletes, she has represented Australia for more than 25 years, captained Australia several times and has won numerous international medals. She has won 11 National Championships and 3 Oceania Championships.
She was the first Australian mum to compete at a World Karate Premier League event (6 months after giving birth to her twin daughters)…and won a silver medal!
Passionate about all facets of sport, Michelle is CEO at Adelaide University Sport and Fitness. She is particularly interested in promoting diversity in sport, creating vibrant and cohesive communities, the mental health benefits of being active and inspiring the next generation of female athletes. She has been an AIS Share a Yarn ambassador which aims to foster reconcilation, create greater inclusivity and a greater understanding Australia's first nations people.
Michelle is an experienced public speaker, group facilitator and MC.
As a powerful and engaging storyteller she has the ability to connect with, inspire and motivate a range of audiences from young children to business executives (and everything in between!).
