A Larrikin, Authentic and Performance Driven

“Sometimes I think the word disability gets thrown around and can make an individual question their ability at something.  I want to show people that at the end of the day, someone like me is no different to someone on the street.  People from all walks of life are able to achieve great things. I want to show the next generation that they just have to be motivated enough to make it happen.” - Blake Cochrane OAM

A triple Paralympian with two gold and silver medals to his name, Cochrane is a decorated athlete and a natural leader within the Dolphins and Paralympic team.

From humble beginnings having been born with congenital limb deficiency Cochrane has been motivated to excel in all walks of life - from conquering the monkey bars to winning gold at the London Paralympic Games in 2012.

His professional swimming career began in 2008 at the Beijing Paralympics where the Queenslander claim his first silver medal in the Men’s 100m Breaststroke (SB7) at just 17 years of age.

Continuing to build on his momentum, three years later he claimed a whopping five gold medals at the Para Pan Pacs in Canada, then in 2012 Cochrane secured two gold medals in World Record time at the London Paralympic Games.

Competing at Rio in 2016, Cochrane came home with a silver medal and most recently, he scooped up a silver in the 200m individual medley (SM8) and a bronze in the 100m breaststroke (SB8) in front of a home crowd at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Gold in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games is his goal!
