Kevin White recently retired from the National Basketball League (NBL) after a distinguished 13-year professional career. Over that time, he played 302 games across four clubs, captaining two of them and earning a reputation as a respected leader on and off the court.

Since retiring, Kevin has launched his own business and joined the team at Talk2MeBro, a mental health charity dedicated to reducing Australia’s suicide rate to zero. He also returned to the Illawarra Hawks as General Manager of Community, where he spent two years driving impactful programs throughout the Illawarra region. Kevin has since transitioned to focus on mental health initiatives and disadvantaged youth basketball programs, continuing his mission to create positive change across New South Wales and Central Australia.

Kevin’s journey began at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he studied a Bachelor’s degree in Education for three and a half years before returning home in 2011 to make his NBL debut with the Sydney Kings. While playing professionally, he completed a Social Work and Youth Services degree through Open Colleges and worked part-time with Charity Bounce, a Sydney-based non-profit supporting disadvantaged youth and communities.

Through basketball, education, and community leadership, Kevin remains committed to empowering young people, fostering resilience, and building stronger, more connected communities.
