Paige Leonhardt attended her first Paralympics in Rio 2016 at just 15 years of age, placing 6th in the world in both the 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly events.
In 2018, at 17, she became Australia’s silver medallist in the SB9 100m breaststroke event at the Commonwealth Games.
Paige has broken a number of World Records in the past two years in both the 100m butterfly and 50 and 100m breaststroke events, and currently trains nine swimming sessions a week at the University of Queensland.
An ambassador for Variety the Children's charity since 2018, Paige helps in raising funds for families with children of special needs, families with financial barriers who have gifted children who require additional funding to support their education and the arts. She also helps children at the QLD Children's Hospital.
Paige has also spent extensive time with the Honourable Mick de Brenni launching the QLD Government Sports and Recreation Strategy in relation to helping the community members find access to available resources near them. Keeping them fit and active albeit young children right through to adults and seniors.
