The Brief

Citro is a free newsletter subscription and cashback rewards platform for Australians over 50 offering first access to the latest news, tips & tricks, and exclusive offers for Lifestyle, Travel, Finance and Health.

The primary objectives of Citro’s campaign were to drive membership sign-ups, encourage regular engagement through the weekly newsletter, and promote the use of the Citro card.

    Solution

    Pickstar worked with Citro on a number of social media posts with a variety of Australian Macro Influencers as a means to help create brand awareness and user acquisition.

    Stars created educational video content that showcased the Citro program and its offerings which was housed on both the star’s and Citro’s META channels. Citro was also provided with the rights to use this content within their paid ads for an agreed-upon number of weeks.

      Kevin & Janetta - Known for their charismatic personalities on Channel 9’s Travel Guides, this couple have a knack for creating engaging content with a strong focus on travel that proved highly beneficial in garnering initial newsletter signups for Citro when launching their website.


      Matt & Brett - Similar to Kevin & Janetta, this couple were able to resonate with Citro’s target audience due to their love of food, shopping and travel, all key themes focussed on by Citro across their offerings.


      Peter ‘Spida’ Everitt - Not only is Spida known for his successful AFL career, he and his wife also host their own travel TV and Radio Show called The Great Australian Doorstep. Citro was able to leverage The Great Australian Doorsteps travel enthusiast following as well as promote the brand through a series of radio ads.


      Julie Goodwin - With a strong social following and even stronger love from the Australian public, Julie Goodwin was the perfect star to partner with Citro to create an exclusive recipe that members could access when signing up to the newsletter. Her social media following was leveraged to promote the launch of the new Citro Card and how it could be used in day to day life when shopping for groceries for the family.


      Cameron Daddo - Cameron is a highly recognisable Australian talent with a career that has spanned across many decades. His extensive career working on Luxury Escapes where he shares his passion for exploration and adventure with his audience made him the perfect fit to promote Citro’s messaging around living your best years.

      Keith Schleiger - Keith is best known for his work as the blockinator on Australia’s most-watched renovation show The Block. His love for health and fitness, as well as his children, meant he was able to highlight the use of the Citro Card in everyday life.
