Mark’s 16-year career with the Australian Military and six-year career with Australian Special forces has taken him to the most remote of places overseas. As a Troop Commander in charge of 30 elite soldiers, Mark’s role was to lead combat missions deep behind enemy lines. At the end of his career, he had completed 10 tours of duty to Afghanistan, Iraq, East Timor, Lebanon and the Solomon Islands.

Mark’s successful recovery and growth led him to embark on a high-profile career in business. He studied with the Wharton School of Business – before joining the elite consulting firm McKinsey & Company in New York City. Mark was listed in Wharton’s prestigious 40 under 40 awards for business excellence.

In 2017, Mark was a popular contestant in Australian Survivor and will be starring in the TV show: Eco-Challenge Fiji 2019 (screening on Amazon Prime Video worldwide, 14 Aug 2020).  Hosted by Bear Grylls, The World’s Toughest Race is an 11-day expedition that pushes competitors to their physical and emotional limits.

He is the founder of a tough-luxury e-commerce brand called Kill Kapture, and now works as a corporate speaker training thousands of clients each year in Australia and the U.S.A. Mark is also now an author with his memoir ‘Survivor’ published in 2021 which has skyrocketed globally to the no.1 war genre memoirs. 

Mark is one of the top motivational speakers in person or virtually and has a range of keynotes outlining his passion for the SAS and the leadership and resilience skills he has transitioned into the corporate and business worlds.  The feedback from clients he has done events for always rate him 10/10.  He is available to speak at corporate in-house and public events, in schools and educational institutions, podcasts and conferences.

In 2022, Mark took out the top prize as Sole Survivor in the Australian series of Survivor - Blood V Water where he competed with his wife Samantha.  The jury voted a clean sweep of 10/10 votes for Mark which says it all about Mark's character, social game, challenges and loyalty to his alliance.

Mark’s wife is Samantha Gash, an elite endurance athlete, and they have a 3-year-old son called Harry.
