Video Shout-Out from Max Beattie

Max is a professional Ironman who resides on the Gold Coast. 

With a New Zealand background he grew up in Kiama before moving to Queensland at a young age. 

Since he was 17 he has chased the Ironman dream on the Gold Coast. He has kept strong ties with his home club of Omanu in New Zealand, while under the guidance of Trever Hendy and Zayne Hamil with the Surfers Paradise SLSC.  

The last few years makes has overcome countless set backs including a complete rupture of his ACL back in September 2018, then 3 weeks later competed in the hardest Ironman in the world, The 42km, 4.5 hour, the infamous Coolangatta Gold where he incredibly finished 2nd. He then went on to contest The World Life Saving titles before opting for Surgery back Feb 2019. Max is now on the mend and racing again in professional Nutrigain Ironman Series. 

He is not only an elite athlete and a healthy and active lifestyle ambassador, he also volunteers his time to with youth personal development programs in schools across Queensland with Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Clubs "everyday heroes" program.

Max has a diploma in Social Media Marketing, and works for the Gold Coast Council Lifeguard service, as well as a PR and Social Media Manager for Summer of Surf.
