Sharni Vinson is a multi-award winning Australian/American actress, dancer and producer, known globally for her versatile talent in the film and television industry. She has worked in the business for over 20 years showcasing her talent alongside stars such as Jackie Chan, Rachel Griffiths, Charles Dance and Adrian Brody.
Sharni is best known among Australian audiences for playing ‘Cassie Turner’ in Seven’s drama series, ‘Home and Away’, a role which led her to a nomination for Most Popular New Female Talent at the 2006 Logie Awards.
Prior to that, Sharni began her career as a recording artist when at 17, she signed to Roadshow Music Australia as a member of all girl pop group, ‘Foxfire IV’.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2008, Sharni appeared in guest star roles on tv shows NCIS, CSI:NY, Cold Case and My Boys before making her transition onto the silver screen. The following year she booked the coveted lead role of 'Natalie' in Disney's "Step Up 3D"- the most successful dance film franchise in the world. The role suited Vinson’s athletic background, requiring months of weight lifting, dance rehearsals, capoeira classes and parkour training.
Sharni displayed her elite swimming and water savvy skills as pro-surfer 'Tara' in 'Blue Crush 2', and as ‘Tina’ in the Australian produced shark thriller, 'BAIT 3D'. She also led the way in the remake of ‘PATRICK', an Australian cult classic, earning her a nomination for Best Actress in 2014 at the AFCA Awards.
Sharni Vinson's performance as Erin in the 2013 horror hit, ‘You’re Next’, revitalized the "final girl”, earning her multiple awards and the title of America’s newest ‘Scream Queen’. In 2022, she was named “one of the most badass horror heroines of the 21st century” by Entertainment Weekly and is a fan favourite on the horror convention circuit in America.
Constantly seeking physically challenging roles, Sharni began training in stunts, combat fighting and wire work to bring to life superhero, ‘The Speed’, in the Netflix series, ‘The Guardians of Justice’. The groundbreaking action series, which earns Sharni her first credit as co-executive producer, was among a handful chosen to premiere at the Cannes Series Festival in 2021, after 6 years in the making.
Beyond her artistic endeavors, Sharni has showcased her charisma and expertise as a judge on Seven’s ‘Dance Boss’ opposite Dannii Minogue, as-well as her athleticism and courage appearing as a contestant on Australian Survivor in 2022.
Sharni is passionate about the ocean, water sports, travel, adventure, fashion, family, animals and her pride and joy- her beloved dog, Jagger.
Sharni is available for brand collaborations/endorsements, media/marketing campaigns, guest/speaking engagements, and public/personal appearances both in Australia and internationally.
