First honing his craft at Shelford RFC, Rory Hutchinson rose through Saints Academy ranks before signing on with Saints to make his full debut in 2015.
Representing home county Cambridgeshire, Eastern Counties, and the Scottish Exiles whilst studying at Felsted School, Hutchinson represented Scotland at both Under-18s and Under-20s and first team level level earning 5 Caps – playing in both the 2014 and 2015 World Rugby Under-20s Championships and Six Nations competitions to become the joint most-capped Scotland Under-20s player ever.
And the talented centre would enjoy his first run of regular senior rugby in 2016/17, scoring his first points in a Saints shirt on his Premiership debut against Exeter Chiefs – a score that would go on to win the Club's try of the Season award that term.
Hutchinson helped Wanderers to back-to-back Premiership Rugby Shield titles in 2017 and 2018 before really starting to excel in Black, Green, and Gold under the director of rugby Chris Boyd; the centre was named Saints’ Breakthrough Player of the Year for the 2018/19 season, while also collecting Club and Premiership Player of the Month awards, and a nomination for the Land Rover Discovery of the Season gong across the whole league that term.
