Current England rugby player Joe Marler is one of the game's most recognisable characters, combining a decorated career for club and country with hosting duties of his hugely successful Podcast, The Joe Marler Show.
Joe joined the Harlequins Academy in 2008, making his senior debut a year later. He went on to help the club claim their first Premiership title in the 2011-12 season. He has continued to play for the Harlequins ever since, captaining the team during 2014-2015 and winning his second Premiership title in 2021.
Joe made his England Test debut against South Africa in 2012, going on to become a regular fixture in the national team before announcing his retirement from international rugby in 2018, later reversing his decision and rejoining the squad in 2019. Joe also played for the British & Irish Lions on their tour to New Zealand in 2017, and for the Barbarians squad in 2019. Joe was a key figure as England reached the 2019 World Cup final (losing to South Africa), and he remains a key member of Eddie Jones' plans as England prepare for the 2023 World Cup in France.
Joe co-hosts his own podcast, "The Joe Marler Show", with Tom Fordyce, former BBC Sports Writer and 1/3 of That Peter Crouch Podcast. In 2020, he wrote a book titled "Loose Head, Confessions of an (un)professional rugby player", telling the story of his life, including his battle with mental health.

Joe co-hosts his podcast “The Joe Marler Show” where he invites a variety of interesting people onto the show to talk about their lives.
He has also been very open about his battle with depression throughout his professional career and speaks about this candidly in his book and on his podcast show. He has even talked about his experience with therapy and antidepressants, which has helped break the stigma around mental health within the rugby community.
In 2021 Joe hosted an illuminating documentary for Sky Sports titled "Big Boys don't Cry", opening up on his battle with depression and going on a journey to rebuild his mental health.
Joe's fun and memorable personality combined with his experience and his mental health story make him a great fit as a guest speaker for a variety of different topics.
