Professional English rugby union player, Jonathan Joseph has established himself as an accomplished athlete. From a club career starting at Derby RFC, Jonathan is now a top try scorer for the International English team, proving his speed, agility, attacking flair and defensive line awareness. 

Rugby Career: 

Jonathan Joseph, started his career playing for Derby RFC. Progressing in the sport, Jonathan started playing for Newbury RFC as a teenager before his breakthrough season in 2010/11 spent playing for London Irish RFC, competing in 13 Premiership games for the team, scoring five tries. Jonathan left the London Irish team after the 2012/13 season, with a total of 44 appearances and 13 tries before signing with the Bath rugby team at the beginning of the 2013/14 season. 

Jonathan Joseph made his debut for England in a 2012 test against South Africa. With impressive form, he acquired 12 caps for England and was called up to play for the English 2015 RWC team. 

Jonathan started for England in the 2015 Six Nations tournament and went on to score three tries in the two opening matches, one against Wales and then Italy. In 2017, Jonathan was selected to tour New Zealand with the British and Irish Lions. . 

Jonathan’s Career Highlights and Achievements 

As well as being selected to join the England squad, in 2015 Jonathan was also named as the Rugby Players’ Association ‘Player’s Player of the Year’ and ‘England Player of the Year.’ 

In 2016, Jonathan was also the highest try scorer for the year across all England players, making eight tries in the year, including a hat-trick in the 2016 Six Nations against Italy. 

He was also nominated for the Land Rover Discovery of the Season Award in 2012, however did not manage to win, though was still selected as one of 42 players to make the cut for England’s tour of South Africa.

In 2021, Jonathan Joseph took to Instagram to publicly call upon Bath Rugby to take more action against those who spread online hate.
