Wendell Jermaine Sailor is an Australian former professional rugby footballer who represented his country in both rugby league and rugby union – a dual code international.
In rugby league Sailor was a member of the successful Brisbane Broncos team of the 1990s, with whom he won Premierships in 1993, 1997, 1998 and 2000. A wing, his large frame and bullocking style made him a formidable opponent and prolific try-scorer. He represented Queensland in State of Origin and played for the Kangaroos 16 times.
Big Dell shocked the NRL world, when he switched codes to play Rugby Union in 2001.
The “King of the Wing”, surprised everyone (including himself), when he was selected to play for the Australian Wallabies. Becoming the 1st Australian player, raised in Rugby League to represent his country in both codes. And also joining an elite handful of Dual Internationals.
