Abbey Holmes is a renowned former AFLW player who made her mark by being selected by the Adelaide Football Club for the inaugural 2017 AFLW Season and going onto winning the AFLW premiership. Her football career came to light during her time in the Northern Territory Football League where she famously became the first woman to kick 100 goals in a season.

After suffering a career ending injury, she moved her focus to media and reporting including commentating and covering sport at both VFL and AFL level with Channel 7. From here she also co-directs and hosts her own show Into the Outback with Abbey Holmes.

Students were amazed to hear she was the 1st female footy player to kick 100 goals, a few questions were asked about her from the students and they enjoyed her footy clinic. Abbey loved the kids and even sat with them on the courts and engaged.

Abbey was great, the people in attendance really appreciated her insights and she matched our expectations perfectly. Not only was her presentation great, but she also interacted with our young MC incredibly and they felt really comfortable with her.
