Mark Alan Butcher is a retired English Test cricketer, who played county cricket for Surrey from 1990 until his retirement from the sport in 2009. In 71 Tests he scored over 4000 runs, including an unforgettable 173 not out to defeat Australia at Headingley in 2001.
Since his retirement as a player, he has been a regular commentator/presenter for Sky Sports Cricket in the UK as well as countless tournaments for tv broadcasters abroad. He also heads up talkSPORT’s award-winning radio coverage. He also co-produced & fronted original documentary “England in the 90s” back in 2015.
Butcher is also a singer-songwriter & guitarist. In 2019 he released his second album, Now Playing, rearranged & performed Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A Changing” for Sky’s Ashes coverage and has continued to write & release new material during the pandemic. www.markbutchermusic.com
