Simon Katich is a former Australian international cricketer, coach and media commentator.
He played primarily as a left-handed opening batsman and part-time left arm chinaman bowler. He played 56 Test matches for Australia from 2001 to 2011, an outstanding career that included 10 Test centuries.
He captained New South Wales and also, until the end of the 2007 season, Derbyshire. In England, he played for Lancashire until the end of the 2014 season and represented birth state Western Australia in Australian Domestic Cricket. He has also played for the Indian Premier League team, Kings XI Punjab.
Katich is coach of the Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, leading the team to successive T20 titles in 2017 and 2018. He is a commentator for ABC Radio Grandstand.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and also served as the Football Operations Manager at AFL club, Greater Western Sydney Giants.
