Alison Drennan is an AFLW player for the Gold Coast Suns in 2021.  She started her career in footy at Cranbourne in the VFLW in 2017 then moving to the Southern Saints VFLW where she was awarded a tie for Best and Fairest with Rhiannon Watt. In 2019 she made her AFLW debut playing for North Melbourne and scoring in her first match and had a very successful year before signing with the Saints. After a year of improving at St Kilda, she has made the move up to the Gold Coast to pursue more opportunities.

Alison's first love of sports started with basketball as a young child. She played as a youth and earned a full scholarship to play division 1 basketball at Fresno State where her and her team made it to 3 NCAA championships. After her third year at Fresno she transferred to Vanguard University where she finished her 2 final years of basketball and found a new love for athletics. She competed in 2 seasons in the heptathlon, winning conference both years and placed 9th at nationals in her final season.

Alison is excited to continue her career as an AFLW player and to be a leader and example to younger athletes around Australia.
