BIOGRAPHY
Having only played 5 first class games for Western Australia Michael Beer was selected to play in his first test for Australia against England in the 2010/11 Ashes series. Beer began his cricket in Victoria and although producing strong club performances resulting in 100+ wickets over two seasons he could not be selected ahead of Shane Warne, Cameron White and Bryce McGain as spin options. His move to Western Australia proved to be a smart one with Beer being the first spinner of choice across all formats. Although only taking one wicket in his only test match, Beer remains a strong spin option for future Australian series.
