Jarman Impey was traded from Port Adelaide to Hawthorn ahead of the 2018 season. Jarman is an extremely quick small forward who played 75 games for Port Adelaide, kicking 34 goals across his career. His ability to move through traffic and read the play is a highlight of his game whilst his presence around the contest proves a true threat to opposition.
Jarman began his career in 2014 after being selected at pick 21 by Port Adelaide during the 2013 NAB AFL Draft. Impey was nominated for the AFL Rising Star award after his round 8 performance against Fremantle. In the early stages of his career, Impey played several roles for the team, including games in the backline. 2016 saw further progress in Impey’s development as a senior player as he was awarded the Gavin Wanganeen Medal – an award that recognises the best player under the age of 21.
His 2017 season saw a return to predominately a forward role, utilizing his speed and agility in reaching his season-high of 20 goals. Impey’s relentless pressure in the forward line saw him averaging an impressive 3.1 tackles a game whilst averaging 11.9 disposals a game.
Jarman looks to continue his career and player development at Hawthorn until the end of 2023.
