The AFL’s first Sudanese-born player, Daw could be the catalyst for a whole new generation of African players. At 194 centimetres and boasting outstanding athleticism, the Kangaroos took the promising Daw at pick 9 in the 2009 NAB AFL Rookie Draft after an impressive season with the Western Jets. Daw made his AFL debut in 2013, joining an illustrious group of AFL players to kick a goal in their first AFL game. He amounted 54 games kicking 43 goals playing a range of positions from forward, ruck and defence over his 7 year AFL career.

Daw was delisted by North Melbourne at the end of the 2020 AFL Season after a mass delisting which saw 11 players cut from the team's list
