BACKGROUND

A fashion designer by trade, Melissa had the blessing early in life not only to be able to access a good education but the clear understanding that with that and an unwavering work ethic it would lead her to a ticket to anywhere!

Developing her early career in marketing and communications at one of the worlds most loved sporting institutions, South Australian Cricket Association, Super League and the Adelaide Festival Centre, her wings spread further afield after a decade honing her skills in story telling on large and small stages. Having lived and worked in London-UK, Dallas (Texas)-USA, driving business interests in Dubai-UAE, along with time in Sydney and Melbourne, her heart and family now lies back in her hometown of Adelaide.

Having delivered over 1000+ events and training or workshop programs around the globe, including a Royal Reception for Queen Elizabeth II, Opening & Closing Ceremonies for the Special Olympics and lunches, dinner and galas for some of the world’s high-profile athletes and or investors, its fair to say Melissa knows a thing or two about events.

Within her event business, story telling became a significant part of her craft which lead her to work ways to tell clients stories. After a few requests to MC events, with her unique approach knowing what an MC needs to do for an event as an event experts, she also knows how to tell your story. With that, more and more opportunities to MC events have come her way.

After a series of awards such at SA Leaders and VIC Leaders Graduating Business along with a Telstra Businesswoman of the Year 2019 a new energy entered her business life. Melissa's entrepreneurial spirit has seen her enter the start-up tech space as an investor along with developing Hidden Bridesmaid as a virtual wedding planning service combining her passion for events and her enthusiasm to create avenues for more people to share their skills with greater audiences improving lives in the community in so many ways.

In addition to her own business interests, she has been her be engaged as a mentor for the global Founders Institute, continues to be a Judge for the Telstra Business Women of the Year Awards and supports two charities that are close to her heart, the Zahra Foundation supporting the financial rebuild of women fleeing domestic violence and Mates in Construction who target the construction industry preventing suicide.

Melissa is a daughter, granddaughter, Aunt and passionate member of her broader community. She is one of six children, an Aunt to eleven nieces and nephews and a significant adult to another six. She doesn’t want to “go with what she knows”, and is passionate about sharing the secrets she has learned along her journey today whilst keeping the door open for those who follow behind.
