Growing up on the Gold Coast, Patrick Murtagh started out his career as a decathlete. In order to perfect his skills, Murtagh has been working hard in the Sun's Academy for over a year. At the 2019 state combine, Murtagh turned heads with his impressive 81cm standing vertical jump. Showing promising skills in the 2019 Academy Series,
Murtagh was selected by the Gold Coast Suns as a Queensland Zone Selection to round out the 2019 NAB AFL Draft period. Murtagh has the potential to develop into an imposing player in the AFL.
