Don Pyke was named senior coach at the Adelaide Crows in 2016 after he served for two seasons as an Assistant Coach in the mid-2000s.
Following a decorated career in Western Australia in the WAFL and with West Coast in the AFL, Pyke began his coaching career at Claremont in 1999. He took a brief sabbatical from the sport to focus on business opportunities but his passion could not be allayed, returning in 2005 and taking on roles with the Crows, Dockers and Eagles over the next decade.
Pyke was announced as Adelaide’s eighth Senior Coach in October, 2015, with Crows CEO Andrew Fagan describing him as the “perfect fit” for the Club.
As a player, Pyke played 132 games for West Coast, 64 WAFL games for Claremont and seven State matches.
His playing awards include: Premiership player at Claremont (WAFL) in 1987 and 1996, Claremont (WAFL) Best and Fairest 1988, Premiership player at West Coast in 1992 and 1994, West Coast Best and Fairest 1993.
