Video Shout-Out from Hayley Bullas

After standout seasons in the VFL with Best & Fairest, Club Person and vice-captain accolades, Hayley was drafted to the West Coast Eagles in 2019 and has since played 4 seasons of AFLW. Her strengths lay in her defensive pressure, her aerobic capacity and ability to read the game. Hayley usually plays in the midfield however also made an impact in the forward role in recent seasons, and was the leading goalkicker for the West Coast Eagles in 2020. Hayley is nearing completion of her Bachelor of Secondary Education and she founded the HB Football Academy, seeking to improve the pathways for young AFLW players in Western Australia. Her partner Sam is the founder of the Ocean Heroes, which provides an opportunity for people on the Autism spectrum to build confidence through surfing, and Hayley is passionate about the cause and plays a hands on role in the organisation. Hayley wants to be remembered for how she made people feel at the football club, and is focused on leaving the game in a better position for the next wave of AFLW players.
