Tom’s coaching is “High Performance”. He focuses on Business, teams, and individuals seeking to be their best. His personal achievement as an elite athlete successfully translates to working with teams and emerging leaders in the workplace. He understands the mindset of performance and is skilled at developing perspective and resilience.

Tom is a strategist and structured thinker with a keen eye for detail following a methodical approach which he overlays in whatever he undertakes. 

Tom combines his winning commitment built up over 16+ years of experience in high performance sport, with an intimate understanding of harnessing the power of team dynamics. He brings this combination into his professional coaching work. Tom’s passion for coaching and mentoring comes from his love of connecting with people and supporting them to pursue their passions and dreams. He gets great fulfilment out of seeing people achieve their aspirations. 

Tom is a current member of the Australian Men’s Hockey Team ‘The Kookaburras’. Tom's love for hockey came at an early age and soon after grew into him chasing a career on the world stage. He has since gone on to win Olympic Silver (Tokyo 2020) and Commonwealth Games Gold (Gold Coast 2018)

Tom has delivered coaching and education programs and services to coaches and players within the Hockey WA Elite Pathway. Planning, implementing and managing programs and developing feedback avenues for athletes and coaches. These include State Teams, Talent Accelerant Programs, Holistic Elite Athlete Training Programs as well as athlete identification and mentoring.

Tom is a sought-after keynote/guest speaker and brings a real passion and energy to his work.  Tom has run his own business, built up from word of mouth and referrals. Clients included landscape architects, the WACA and, Insurance firms.  He did this whilst balancing his athletic passion and playing at the highest level of elite sport.

Tom is a Commonwealth Games, World League, Pro League and Oceania Cup Gold Medalist, and he’s played in multiple Grand Finals in the Men’s Premier WA competition and Australian Hockey League.  Since 2006 he has played and lead teams in the Australian Hockey League and was High Performance Head Coach for Hockey WA from 2015 - 2018.

Tom describes himself as being “ultra-competitive, highly ambitious and driven.” He thrives in high pressure situations and team environments. 

He loves challenging himself, learning new skills and is clearly not afraid to get out of his comfort zone. 

When not training or competing at the elite level, Tom loves being outdoors - adventuring, camping, fishing, four-wheel driving, playing golf and cycling.
