Sophie White is a young lady who is going places!
Sophie’s athletic ability was first noticed on the track through Little Athletics. She was fast with natural coordination. She excelled in both sprinting and long jump but after her first 100m hurdle event she had discovered her passion - 100m Hurdles.
Sophie has a will to succeed and a ‘ no short cuts’ approach that belies her age. At 16, Sophie equalled the great Sally Pearson’s Under 18, 100m Hurdle record.
At 17, Sophie was selected in the Australian Team for the Youth Olympic Games and ran into an amazing second place. This has signaled Sophie as one to watch in the coming years.
Sophie is a grounded young woman that has a wonderfully supportive family and a team around her that are taking a strategic perspective on Sophie’s athletic career.
Off the track Sophie is surrounded by her pets. She owns her own horse and regularly enjoys riding. Sophie finely balances her riding, caring for her pets, training, and schoolwork. This in itself highlights maturity beyond her years.
Sophie White is a well-mannered, well-spoken and exciting talent.
