Connie rose to fame playing the lead role of Maria in ‘The Sound Of Music’ at The London Palladium having won ‘How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?’, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s reality TV show for the BBC.

Christmas 2009 saw Connie’s small screen debut in the lead role for the ITV1 drama ‘Caught in a Trap’, playing a woman obsessed with Elvis Presley memorabilia. She then went on to star in the film ‘The Wedding Dress’ in 2009. As well as the national tour of The Sound Of Music, in 2012 she played the lead role in the UK tour of Bernstein’s ‘Wonderful Town’.

After working as both contestant and actress, Connie took to the world of presenting, hosting ‘The National Lottery’ and ‘Cardiff Singer of the World’ for the BBC. She also fronts her own series for BBC Wales: ‘Connie’s Musical Map of Wales’ and ‘Connie’s People’ and continues to present one-off documentaries and arts programmes. She has also hosted her own show for BBC Radio Wales ‘The Connie Fisher Show’. For several years she has been a regular presenter on ‘Songs of Praise’ on BBC One.

In 2015 BBC Four broadcast the documentary 'Connie: I Will Sing Again'. The film followed Connie on her emotional journey trying recapture her singing voice, three years after retiring from public performance due to a congenital throat condition which affected her vocal chords.
