James Slipper in Gold Coast, Queensland) is an Australian rugby union player who plays at prop. Slipper currently captains the Queensland Reds, making his debut during the 2010 Super 14 season. In June 2010 Slipper came on as a substitute in Australia's victory over England, earning his first international cap.
James Slipper continues to be one of the most recognisable and appreciated members of the Reds' pack among Queensland fans, due in large part to his enormous work rate and the passion he exudes for his state. Slipper returns to Super Rugby with the added experience of a second Rugby World Cup campaign, having been a regular member of the Wallaby matchday 23 during the 2015 tournament. He also captained Australia for the first time in 2015, against the United States of America in Chicago. He spent much of his youth south of Brisbane on the Gold Coast, nurturing his rugby talents alongside current Reds teammate Rob Simmons at The Southport School.
