Grace Abbey was born in Oxford, United Kingdom and started kicking a football as soon as she could walk with her older brother, father and grandad who had played for local teams.
She moved to Australia at the age of 6 where she signed up for a local club Tea Tree Gully U7s and in her first year playing at club level she was hungry to score goals and scored 66! At the age of 10 and after winning the Challenge cup with her team she officially guided her passion to play for Para Hills Knights U11s competing and playing among boys. Within 2 years at the club, she started her journey into the FFSA for the U12 girls State Team. Since then she has competed in over 6 interstate competitions as part of the South Australian State Team as well as being part of the older age group NTC (national Training Centre) where she showcases her talents and was in fact chosen to trial at the young Matildas under 17s camp. Unfortunately not being an Australian Citizen her dreams were drawn to a holt. Since this set back Grace has worked hard with determination and passion for the game both at state level, and train on at Adelaide United 2014. Her biggest break came when she was selected to play as a starting 11 for the Lady Reds (Adelaide United) during the season of 2015/2016.
Both on and off the pitch she has determination and passion to follow her dreams. Grace hopes that in the future she can follow her dreams in becoming part of the Australian Matildas or even to play for her favourite club Arsenal in the UK.
