Áine has represented Leitrim Ladies Football team since 2010 and has been a leading figure in the county captaining her club to two county championships, as well as winning 2 Connacht intermediate championships and a Division 4 NFL with Leitrim.

Studying BSc in Physical Education and Maths and a Masters in Sports Performance at the University of Limerick Áine also won 2 O’Connor Cup titles and 2 HEC College All Stars. She has represented Connacht at interprovincial level on several occasions, featured on the National Football League Team of the League, has received 4 All Star nominations, as well as winning the Intermediate Players Player Of Year award in 2011.

The Kiltubrid player works as Physical Education and Maths teacher in Ashbourne Community School and previously worked as part of Sky Sport Living for Sport Programme in conjunction with Youth Sport Trust an initiative working with schools to inspire students to challenge themselves to reach their potential, develop valuable life skills and aspire to be the best that they can be.
