Sunday Dech is a basketball player for the Adelaide 36ers in the NBL, previously being a two time championship winner with the Perth Wildcats in the NBL; the first as a development player in 2013/14 and most recently last season in 2018/19. Along with winning the championship last year, Sunday was also awarded the Coach's Award at the end of year banquet.
He has achieved at a high level over his short career unto date. In the NBL off-season last year Sunday was a part of a successful Wellington Saints team in the New Zealand NBL. The Saints went undefeated throughout the season, with a 20-0 winning streak that eventuated into a championship. In 2014 Sunday helped his junior club The East Perth Eagles to its first SBL championship in WA. Also winning the Most Improved Player's award for the league.
Before his NBL career began, Sunday played basketball in the United States for two Universities, Metro State University of Denver and Barry University. Throughout his time in the United States Sunday captained both teams to play at a high level, whilst competing for championships each year.
Sunday Is a very strong public speaker and is quite involved with working with young people through mentoring and charitable work.
