Born with a deteriorating eye condition that will one day leave him totally blind, Kieran is a true inspiration. Drawing on his ‘never say can’t’ attitude he will have your audience in stitches, and leaving with a motivation to achieve their best.
From soccer to T-Ball, basketball to cricket Kieran tried his hand at everything, never letting the fact that he was rapidly losing his sight affect his determination. He eventually fell in love with swimming and for over a decade trained morning and night, chasing that Paralympic dream.
Told by teachers he should stop sport to focus on school, that as he was blind it was important to go to uni to enhance his job opportunities, Murphy didn’t listen and proved the doubters wrong, not only did he have a successful career, but he would go on to represent Australians well.
