Josh Jenkins is a professional AFL football player who plays for the Adelaide Crows. He was draft pick No. 12 in the 2010 Rookie Draft. Spent 2011 at Essendon FC before joining Adelaide via trade. Jenkins made his AFL debut in round 7, 2012, against Geelong at AAMI Stadium, and kicked a goal with his first kick. He played 11 matches in his first year and kicked 11 goals. Josh signed a new two-year contract with Adelaide in May 2014. He proceeded to have a breakout year, kicking 40 goals in 20 games. He improved even further in 2015, kicking 46 goals and taking more contested marks than any other Adelaide player. In Round 7, 2016, Jenkins kicked a career-high eight goals in the Crows' 15-point loss to the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium. He went on to kick 62 goals in the season, a career high, and was named in the All-Australian squad of 40.

It was reported during the season that rival club Brisbane Lions had offered Jenkins a five-year deal worth $750,000 per season; however, he ultimately rejected other offers to sign a five-year contract extension with Adelaide in July. In round 2, 2017, Josh suffered bruised ribs and was unable to play until he was dropped to the SANFL due to poor form. He returned to the senior side immediately in round 10 against Fremantle, and kicked three goals. At the end of the season he played in the 2017 AFL Grand Final as part of the Crows’ losing team.

2018 was a career year for Jenkins finishing third in the Crows best and fairest. He also won the leading goal kicker for the club with 46. Josh had a disappointing 2019 due to injury and lack of form, limiting him to just 11 games. At the conclusion of the season he was traded to Geelong Cats in search of more playing time.

Jenkins is an aspiring US sports journalist and SuperCoach writer for The Advertiser newspaper in Adelaide. He successfully completed AFL's Next Goal work placement program in 2012 with The Advertiser. In addition, contributing weekly for 'Live Blog' with footy fans online.
