O'Brien is an Australian netballer having played for the NSW Swifts in her early career. The Swifts mid-court had a great debut season in 2017 and had a positive start to the 2018 season before going down with an injury. After finishing the later stages of her rehab in 2019 a new opportunity was presented with cross-town rivals GWS Giants. She is currently making her mark in New Zealand with the Northern Mystics hoping to defend their championship title for season 2022.
