Lin Jong is a former AFL footballer who spent 10 seasons at the Western Bulldogs where he became a beloved figure amongst the Doggies faithful.

A tough as nails midfielder, he overcame a serious injury sustained in the 2016 AFL Elimination Final to win the Norm Goss Memorial Medal in Footscray’s 2016 VFL Grand Final success 17 days later.

The first player of East Timorese and Taiwanese descent to play in the AFL, he was a two-time VFL Premiership winner with the Footscray Bulldogs (2014 and 2016).

He called time on his AFL career in 2021 following another injury heartbreak and made 65 appearances for the Bulldogs during his time at Whitten Oval.

Lin is an advocate for multiculturism in the game, serving as an AFL Multicultural Ambassador in 2020, as well as a men’s mental health advocate by working as a Campaign Ambassador for Movember.
