In a media environment dominated by ex-sportsmen, Hudson’s rise from a boy from Bendigo to multi award-winning sports commentator is quite extraordinary. Anthony has called five AFL Grand Finals for Network Ten and a further nine for radio – as well as calling international tennis, cricket, golf, motor racing and swimming.
His calls are always passionate and well informed, providing an accurate and entertaining account of the on-field action.
Anthony has three times been awarded ‘the most outstanding AFL commentator’ by the AFL Media Association. His career has spanned more than 20 years at 3AW, Channel Seven, Network Ten/One HD and now Fox Footy and radio SEN1116.
During Ten’s decade long coverage of the AFL, Hudson called and hosted it’s live AFL broadcasts and hosted popular programs Before the Game and The Game Plan. He was also the voice of swimming for One HD, covering major events in Rome, Los Angeles and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
On radio, Hudson has been part of the fabric of SEN from its opening day and leads the station’s Friday Night Football coverage and the award winning Saturday show, Crunch Time.
Anthony has regularly worked with the biggest names in sport but also has plenty of entertaining stories of his own to tell.
He is an outstanding and entertaining key-note speaker where he talks about following your dream. He is also an experienced MC having hosted corporate functions for many companies including the AFL, NAB, ANZ, Gillette, Michael Page International, Tennis Victoria and many AFL clubs.
