Kurt Herzog, 24 from Castle Hill, is an elite athlete in the sport of swimming. He currently swims under head coach of Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre (SOPAC) Swimming Club, Brant Best. After narrowly missing selection in the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Kurt qualified to make his debut for the Australian Swim Team at the 2015 Fina World Swimming Championships in Kazan, Russia for the 4x200 freestyle Relay. The relay team, which accompanied the likes of Olympic legend Grant Hackett, qualified first for the final and then went on to achieve bronze in the final! At the 2016 Rio Olympic Trials Kurt narrowly missed qualifying for the Olympics by .3 of a second. He will now set his sights on the 2016 World Cup short course circuit before aiming to qualify for the 2016 Fina World Short Course Championships in Canada early December.
