About me
Maya Joint is an 18-year-old professional tennis player, born and raised in Detroit, United States, who represents Australia on the professional tennis tour.
Maya Joint, born 16 April 2006 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, is an Australian professional tennis player who switched her allegiance from the U.S. to Australia in early 2023. She now trains at Tennis Australia’s National Academy in Brisbane and is recognised as the current No. 2 ranked Australian female singles player. Her career‑high WTA rankings-No. 37 in singles and No. 69 in doubles-were both achieved on 14 July 2025.

-
Maya is known for her aggressive baseline game, nimble footwork, and adaptability across surfaces, excelling on both clay and grass.
-
She carries an introspective and humble storytelling style, candidly recalling her nerves and disbelief at high-pressure matches like Azarenka and Pegula:
“I didn’t feel like I was supposed to be there… I was like, ‘I’m not winning this match’.”
-
Young, relatable champion: Her meteoric climb and authentic personality make her highly appealing to younger audiences.
-
On-court drama matches: Stories like her Eastbourne comeback create compelling, sharable content.
-
National pride in action: Transitioning representation to Australia-paired with a strong training base and national team inclusion-adds emotional brand resonance.
