Growing up in Sydney and attending school at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, Emily played many sports growing up and only began to discover her passion and ability in Rugby when she was studying at The University of Sydney.
Emily has now been playing for six years and started because of her love of watching the game and has always wanted to learn how to tackle.
Emily was the Australian Captain and player at the World University Games for the rugby seven’s in Wales in 2016, the NSW 7s co-captain in 2016, on the NSW 7s team from 2013-16 and has represented the XV Sydney team and Champions from 2015 to 2017. In 2018 she Debuted for the Wallaroos on home soil at the Bledesloe Double Header at ANZ Stadium on the 18th of August 2018. She was named best and fairest. Emily capped off 2018 receiving the Wallaroo of the Year award at Rugby Australia's Awards Night. 2019 saw an undefeated Super W Championship for NSW Waratah's Women where Emily won Best forward and the Community Service Award.
Emily played all four test matches for Australia in 2019, including their first ever win on home soil at North Sydney Oval against Japan.
She has captained Macquarie Uni in the Aon University 7s team the past two years and to a win in the second round of the Uni 7s competition, the first time a university other than Queensland has won a round, ever.
Chancellor is in the thick of it. Not only is she part of the national XVs program, but she has a foothold in sevens too — the form of the game where she first began. She is becoming adept at juggling the two.Chancellor is upfront about the difficulties of switching between the two forms of the games, but she loves it and will take whatever opportunity she can to succeed, from wherever it may come.
Emily received 1st Class Honours in Education Undergrad (at USYD) and Completed a Master of Management at USYD where she now works as the High Performance Assistant Manager for Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness
