About me

Gavin Wood is a legend of the Australian music and entertainment industry.

From the wide open spaces of outback Queensland to the rush and bustle of Hollywood Boulevard, Gavin has worked and collaborated with a veritable 'who's who' of nationally and internationally renowned artists and performers, and along the way he's collected a whole swag of humorous, entertaining and insightful anecdotes and stories.

In a career spanning more than 40 years, he's been a top rating radio DJ and host, he was the voice of Countdown during its golden years, the producer and presenter of Hey Hey It's Saturday's 'Pop Report' segment and he - hosted the Tattslotto draw on national TV every Saturday night for more than 15 years.

Always up for a challenge, Gavin then moved to LA, established an independent film production company and spent the next 12 years engaged in the 'glitz and glamour' of the Hollywood movie business...as you do. There he became immersed in the world of script development, rewrites, production funding, packaging and the all important bottom line. It was, as Gavin says, "all a bit of an eye opener."

So, if you'd like a behind the scenes peek at the music and entertainment business, how they played hard and partied harder, how they grew and evolved to take on the challenge of the digital age and the internet, and how a young kid from Roma dreamed of the stars and found himself living amongst them, then you need Gavin. He's available for your next luncheon or dinner event.
