In February 2017, Tone had the opportunity to represent Australia at the Melbourne World Cup at Hisense Arena, placing 8th on Pommel and 7th on the Rings in his very first international event.

His maiden international performance marked the start of his break-out year as a Senior athlete, competing in four more events through-out the year including his first World University Games in Taipei.

His consistent results through-out 2017’-18’ landed Tone a place on the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games team where he placed 7th on Pommel and 5th on the Horizontal Bar.

Michael first burst onto the podium at the National Championships in 2009, finishing in first place in the level 7 under 13 division, showing real potential for the future. He has been developing well ever since and, at 23-years-old, is really starting to deliver on the promise of his early results.

He is currently training at the Queensland High Performance Centre with Sean Wilson as his coach.
