Create an experience with Lauren Butler

Lauren grew up in Maryborough, Victoria and attended Ballarat Grammar School. During her time at Ballarat Grammar, she helped captained her side to victory in the Herald Sun Shield competition. 

Butler also captained GWV Rebels in her draft year. An athletic defender who has the ability to dominate in a one-on-one contest. Butler’s talent was recognised early on during time with grew Vic Country in 2018 where she read angles well with fantastic intercept marking and while also remaining composed under pressure. 

Taken with Pick 18 in the 2018 NAB AFLW Draft by Collingwood. Lauren fulfilled an attacking-defender role in her debut season with the Pies in 2019, Butler impressed with her strong hold and has carried this through her time at the club, where she fulfilled a crucial role in the team’s backline.

In 2022, Lauren’s commitment and efforts were recognised winning the club’s Player’s Player Award & also finishing 5th in the Best & Fairest Award

Interest & Hobbies

Off the field, Lauren is most interested in nutrition, health and fitness. Lauren intends to study and get her degree in dietetics and sports nutrition.
