Belinda Woolcock began playing tennis at the age of 5 and the sport has shaped her life ever since. Belinda graduated from the University of Florida in 2017, also known as the Florida Gators, where she represented the women's tennis team whilst also studying a bachelor’s degree of Science in Sport Management.

Belinda chose college as her pathway to professional tennis and is now competing full-time on the women's professional tennis circuit around the world.

It hasn't been an easy journey, particularly after rupturing her ACL in 2018, but it has enabled Belinda to grow and develop in many other aspects of her life and be stronger than ever. After this injury, the following year in 2019, Belinda made the biggest jump in the rankings out of all Australian female tennis players. She reached her career high rankings only 2 months after being back on the professional tour after injury. This included jumping from 800 to 260 in the world in this period of time.

She has won numerous singles and doubles titles. Competing in the 2020, 2018 & 2016 Australian Open and having the opportunity to represent her country by winning a title at the Junior Fed Cup, have been some of her greatest moments.

U.S. college brought unforgettable memories and achievements for Belinda. She was the 2017 NCAA National Champion Winner with her team whilst being honoured the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. On top of this, Belinda also made the final of the Women's National Singles Championship event. After a great final year playing for the Florida Gators Belinda was recognised for her achievements and named the 2017 Honda Sports Award Winner for Women's Tennis, signifying “the best of the best in collegiate athletics”.

Belinda is now based back in Melbourne where all of her family reside. In addition to competing on the women's professional circuit, she also plays for Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, coaches part-time using her Junior Development Coaching Course qualification, surfs, rides horses, and is a proud member of the LGBTIQA+ community.

There are many goals and aspirations in Belinda’s mind, and some of those include one day winning a Grand Slam title and being able to represent Australia in the Fed Cup and Olympics. Her greatest joys in sport come from inspiring young athletes to pursue their goals, empowering each other, and connecting with other women in sport to hear their stories.
