Maddy McAuliffe’s promotion from Brisbane South Wildcats to Sunshine Coast Lightning is testament to the young Queenslander’s work ethic and tenacity.
A quiet achiever who goes about her job diligently, the Wing Defence has taken her game to a new level in her first season of elite netball. The opportunity to learn from arguably the world’s best Wing Defence in Laura Langman has provided a rare insight into what it takes to be at the top of the pile. Her second season provided the opportunity to turn this insight into action with the departure of Langman.
The gregarious go-getter has a maturity beyond her years and her experience representing Australia at 19/U and 21/U level holds her in good stead for the third instalment of Suncorp Super Netball in 2019 after back-to-back premierships.
The 24-year-old now has the opportunity to forge a career at the highest level and will handle any occasion with aplomb.
McAuliffe has completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Business (Public Relations) and when she isn’t training or playing she’s busy working as a Compliance Support Officer at the University of the Sunshine Coast
