Investor and Shareholder Update
Pickstar Team Hits The Road
Revenue hits all-time high of $6.9m
New Chief Commercial Officer appointed in Los Angeles
Outlook to drive strategic SaaS growth in US and UK
Basketball legend Chris Anstey, former winter Olympic games gold medallist Steven Bradbury and Australian cricketer Brad Hodge headlined an exclusive group of guests who attended a recent Pickstar east coast investor roadshow.
Pickstar co-founders Matthew Pavlich and James Begley presented at events in Sydney and Melbourne earlier this month to provide key insights on the Company’s performance and outline growth plans.
James said the meetings provided an important forum to connect with shareholders and new investors.
“Over the past 12 months, we’ve achieved significant revenue and market-share growth,” said James.
“Around the world, we’re seeing a renewed appetite for engaging high profile talent, particularly given the pandemic-dust is now settling, and our key financials and commercial metrics are proving this trend.”
The Company’s revenue for FY2022 hit an all-time high of AU$6.9m, while Pickstar has signed more than 6,345 elite talent that promote their expertise and availability.
“A large part of our narrative to guests was to update them on the work going on behind the scenes, from growing the talent on our platform to signing some of the biggest leagues globally.”
Pickstar and its SaaS product, VLAST, have signed contracts with the AFL, Cricket Australia, Harlequins rugby in the UK, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment in Canada, and the NFL in the US.
“Our outlook is to consolidate our growth, we want more leagues, clubs, talent and associations using our software,” James explained.
“Given the interest and popularity in sport, it’s surprising the commercial value of the global sporting market is largely unknown.
“Conservative figures indicate more than US$645b is spent annually on sporting sponsorships globally. Our plan is to continue to grow our commercial footprint in this market - and to take a bigger share of that global spend.”
In July, Pickstar made a new strategic appointment, recruiting Los Angeles-based Brent Kocher as Chief Commercial Officer of its US team.
“Our focus is clear - we want to capitalise on our strong foundation and continue to grow in North America,” James said.
“The first part of the strategy of securing deals with blue-chip associations, talent and leagues has been achieved. Now we want to compound our market share and leverage this brand association to secure more.”
Pickstar operates with two distinct revenue models, offering its white-label VLAST Software as a Service (SaaS) platform along with its Pickstar talent ecosystem. This dual approach proved most compelling for roadshow guests.
In the near future, Pickstar plans to make another major announcement relating to the latest development of its software product range.
