Libby Birch is a trailblazer in AFL/AFLW, making history as the only player to win three premierships with three different clubs. A standout AFLW player, rising media personality, and qualified physiotherapist, Libby has earned her reputation as one of the league’s top athletes through unwavering dedication and hard work.

A former elite netballer, Libby captained Victoria and represented Australia in multiple squads. Though football wasn’t on her radar, a pivotal opportunity came at 18 when her now close friend, Daisy Pearce, gave her a chance just as the AFLW was taking off. Despite never having kicked a football before, Libby’s rise in Australian Rules Football has been extraordinary. She’s earned multiple All-Australian selections, played key roles in three premiership-winning teams, and became the first Victorian to reach 50 and 75 AFLW games. Libby began her AFLW career with the Western Bulldogs, spent five seasons at the Melbourne Football Club, and in 2024, claimed another premiership with North Melbourne.

Libby exemplifies what it means to be a true team player, on and off the field. A natural leader, she’s known for her fierce drive, competitiveness, and approachable, energetic personality. Her commitment to her values and her willingness to support others is evident in everything she does.

Outside of football, Libby works as a qualified physiotherapist, focusing on disability and hospital wards. She also has a growing media presence, working for 3AW, writing for The Age, and commentating on Channel 7. As an emerging media talent, she brings her expertise to roles as a co-host, expert commentator, football analyst, and columnist. Passionate about empowering young girls and women to participate in sports, Libby encourages them to improve their health, wellbeing, and develop life skills.
