Nigel Boogaard (born 14 August 1986) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a central defender for A-League club the Newcastle Jets

Club career
Central Coast Mariners
Boogaard was a foundation member of the Mariners when the A-league start in 2004, He spent 5 season with the Mariners in which time was part of their 2007-08 Premiership side.

Adelaide United
Boogaard signed with Adelaide United on 6 November 2009 and joined them for their upcoming AFC Champions League campaign.

On 8 May 2012, it was announced that Boogaard had signed for a further two years with Adelaide United. In 2014 he was part of the championship side that won the inaugural season of the FFA Cup.

On 20 July 2013, Boogaard started for the A-League All Stars in the inaugural A-League All Stars Game against Manchester United, a match in which the A-League All Stars were beaten 5-1. Boogaard, along with Brisbane Roar forward Besart Berisha, were the only players to play out the full match.

Newcastle Jets
Boogaard signed a three-year deal with his hometown club, the Newcastle Jets, on February 16, 2015 and has gone on to Captain his side since arriving at the club.
