Max Plath is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a lock for the Dolphins in the National Rugby League (NRL). Plath is recognised for his versatility and impact on the field.
Plath began his junior career with the Capalaba Warriors before joining the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, where he played in the Hostplus Cup during 2022 and 2023. In these seasons, he made 17 appearances, scored nine tries, and kicked 19 goals, also representing the Queensland under-19 team.
In June 2023, Plath made his NRL debut for the Dolphins in a match against the New Zealand Warriors. He played two NRL games in his debut year, scoring one try. Recognizing his potential, the Dolphins extended his contract through to 2026 in December 2023.
The 2024 season saw Plath continue to develop his game. He concluded the season with 21 appearances and five tries, contributing significantly to the Dolphins' campaign.
In February 2025, the Dolphins secured Plath's services until the end of the 2028 season, underscoring their commitment to his development within the team.
Off the field, Plath is the son of former Brisbane Broncos utility John Plath and the older brother of Jordan Plath, who is signed with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
