Izzi Batt-Doyle is a two-time Olympian, Australian and Oceania record holder and professional distance runner based in Adelaide.
She represented Australia in the 5,000m at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She currently holds the Australian half marathon record of 67:17 and the Australian and Oceania road 10km record of 30:44, with a marathon best of 2:22:59.
Izzi’s path to becoming a world-class athlete hasn’t always been straightforward. While studying and competing at the University of Washington in the United States, she dealt with seven stress fractures and spent years trying to find consistency through injury.
The COVID years became an unexpected turning point. The postponement of the Tokyo Olympics gave Izzi an extra year to build consistency, leading to a breakthrough across 2020 and 2021 and qualification for her first Olympic team. Since then, she has represented Australia across track, road and cross country, broken Australian and Oceania records, and become one of Australia’s most consistent and accomplished distance runners.
Away from her own running, Izzi is the co-founder of RunAsOne, an Adelaide-based running community and coaching business with more than 500 members. She also holds an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Washington.
Her experiences across elite sport, coaching and psychology have taught Izzi the importance of resilience, perspective, a strong support system and, above all, enjoying the journey!
