Hailing from the Murray Bushrangers, the Brisbane Lions selected Ely Smith with Pick No. 21 at the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.
Smith earned his selection after strong performances for Vic Country at the Under 18 National Championships and the Murray Bushrangers in the TAC Cup competition. At 187cm he is an agile, powerful, explosive ball winner, at home in the midfield.
Recently-delisted Brisbane Ely Smith has joined an array of ex-AFL talent at the SANFL club South Adelaide for 2023.
