Chris Scott is currently the head coach at the Geelong Cats, and is one of 12 men to lead a club to an AFL premiership in their first year at the helm. Not only is he one of the greatest coaches Geelong has had, but he is also a dual premiership player, playing a total of 215 games for the Brisbane Lions.
Chris Scott as a player hit the ground running for the Brisbane Lions in 1994, taking out the Rising Star Award in his first year. Scott’s ability to ruthlessly body and defend players made him such a monumental player for the Brisbane Lions defence. Scott went on to become the Vice-captain of the Brisbane Lions from 1999 - 2004, and retired in 2007 with two premierships under his belt.
Chris Scott then moved to Fremantle in 2008 to become the assistant coach for the Dockers. It was a quick success story, with Scott playing a pivotal role in ensuring the Dockers made finals in 2008. In 2011 Scott was then offered the head coaching position at Geelong, which he took, coaching a total of 202 games and winning a premiership.
